What's going on in the forest? The squirrels' nutstorehouse is empty and must be refilled quickly – and before the thievingraccoon David comes along and steals it.

In the family game Auf die Nüsse!, players slip into the role ofsmall squirrels, who roll the dice and skillfully place their characters on theboard to collect as many nuts as they can and sort them in their storehouse byvariety. Each player has a set of cards with differently-sized nut storehousesand 15 squirrels of one color. On a player's turn he rolls the dice and mustcombine a white with a green die and place a squirrel on the appropiate field. You can repeat this several times, but if you roll a field with a squirrel, your turn ends.

If you think you have placed enough squirrels, yousend them into the forest; if you have two or more squirrels in one of thelower forest areas you may take the nut card from the display and put it intoyour storehouse. Other player's squirrels move up in the forest. In the upperfields you need three or four squirrels, but there's also a wider range ofnuts. On a special field the thieving raccoon David awaits; he helps steal nutsfrom other players' storehouses.

Thegame ends when the deck of nuts is exhausted. The player who has collected mostvictory points in his storehouse wins.
